CHAPEL HILL – Appalachian State University (ASU), University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC), and Western Carolina University will start enrolling new students in Professional Science Master’s (PSM) programs in Fall 2007.
ASU is offering a PSM concentration in Instrumentation as part of its nationally recognized Applied Physics Master's program. The Applied Physics program was selected by American Institute of Physics as one the top 22 programs in preparing students for the workforce.
UNCC has recently established a Bioinformatics Research Center (BRC). As part of BRC, the center will be offering a PSM in Bioinformatics starting in the Fall 2007. The program will fuse Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics, Computing and Informatics, and Engineering to prepare graduates for employment in biotechnology.
Beginning in Fall 2007, WCU will be enrolling students in an exciting program in Science and Entrepreneurship. The program will use technologies such as point-to-point video conferencing and online modules to bring students closer to industry experts.
